From the East (December 2016)

Brethren,

It’s hard to believe but it has come to the end of another Great year at J. Wendell Fargis No. 356. First of all would like to thank you all for allowing me the pleasure of setting in the East as your Worship Master.

We still have some work to finish with two of our EA’s to be ready for their Fellowcraft Degree. It looks like we are going to able to get some courtesy work done at Rebault Lodge. It will be on December 6, 2016, if you are available please come and support our brothers. We also have a couple of new candidates that are ready to get started. It’s been good year for bringing in new members to the Fraternity. Continue reading “From the East (December 2016)”

Brethern,
I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a very Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year. 2016 has surely gone fast. I guess that means we are getting older.
Ha,ha. Our dues are coming in at a good rate and we thank you all for that. Remember to sign in
for the Circumscribe program. Call me if you have any questions. Our next big project will be to
replace the flat roof over fellowship hall, so we will need donations for that project.

Brethren,

As the year is coming to a close don’t forget it has been a great year. We have several Entered Apprentice Brothers who are preparing for the proficiency. When ready we will schedule a Fellowcarft degree, shooting for end of November (First part of October was overcome by events).

The family night was great also food, socializing and to close it out with a performance from RW Robby Stokes and Brother Barry Collins. The educational value was awesome and our Brothers do a great job. Please if you happen to see them let them know how much you enjoyed the performance. Brethren,

This year has surely been a fast one. Only three more Stated Meeting left. So come on out and
support your Lodge. A lot of events are scheduled for November and it would be great if we had

Brethren,

It continues to be a great year. We have several Entered Apprentice Brothers who are preparing for the proficiency. When ready we will schedule a Fellowcraft degree, shooting for end of October. We had a productive officer’s meeting with plans for the remaining of the year. October we will have Family/Widows night on October 20th, please invite your families to the lodge for good fellowship and food as always.

The EA Degree on 24 September 2016 went exceptionally well, congratulation to Brother Scott Brinley, in the East and his entire degree team for putting on the degree. There are three new brothers at our Lodge and Two new brothers at Riverside Lodge (Courtesy work). We would like to thank Riverside Lodge for allowing J. Wendall Fargis to be part of bring new Masons into the fraternity. We look forwarded to seeing all the new brothers grow in their Masonic travels.

Still looks like it will be a busy end of the year, welcoming new brothers into Freemasonry and helping them with their growth. Thanks to all that are taking on the important task of being instructors. I know it’s not always an easy task but it is rewarding when you see the new brothers grow in Freemasonry.

Let’s continue to make our visitors feel welcome and at home at our Lodge!!!

As always thank you for the allowing me the opportunity to serve you!!

From the Secretary’s Desk (October 2016)

Brethren,

Congratulations to the three newly initiated Brothers. The EA Degree team practiced hard and put on an excellent Degree. Educated Masons are Dedicated Masons.

Important NOTE: Please give me a heads up if you have signed in on the Circumscribe Program. We need all of our Brothers who have computers to complete this sign up process.

It is now time to turn in your nomination paperwork to the Secretary if you are going to nominate a Brother from our Lodge for one of the five elected positions of officers. Events are posted on the bulletin board and the calendar. Please take time to read them and take note of them.

Fraternally,

Secretary Frank

From the Secretary’s Desk (September 2016)

The time sure is flying fast. Hopefully September will bring us some cooler weather. We had a fine showing at the Grand Master’s Official Visit on Saturday, August 27th. Thanks to all attending and their wives. I am happy to say that we welcome the Ladies to our dinners at our Stated Meetings and the Breakfast we hold on the second Saturday of each month. Keep it up Ladies.

Please check out the events as listed at the top of this page and make your calendars. Staying active is the sign of a positive Lodge. We are growing and that subject was a topic of conversation at the Official Visit on the 27th. We only have two Brothers who have not paid their 2016 dues. Which is a good sign. By the way the 2017 dues cards will be arriving in October. Also, please sign up for circumscribe as this is the new way of being on-board. Look at the Grand Lodge website under “circumscribe”.

Brethren,

Thank you for your continued support as we move toward the end of the year. We have a lot to accomplish during the next few months. An EA Degree, that we have schedule for 24 September 2016. Also we have three Entered Apprentices that we need to keep moving and schedule a Fellowcraft Degree as soon as they are ready. We will check with our instructors and get a date set so we can start planning and putting the degree team together. Looks like we could have a busy end of the year, welcoming new brothers into Freemasonry.

Congratulation to Brothers Caleb Radney and Samuel Fisher for completing their MM Proficiency, we look forward to helping them in their continued Masonic growth. It is an honor to have been part of their travel thus far.
