From the East (May 2017)

Brethren,

Over the fast few months our Lodge has been conducting regular
maintenance on our building in addition we have also been calibrating our
equipment, like the kitchen appliances and tools. Thank to our building
committee for their hard work. I hope to see more brothers who can find time to participate.

Brother Thomas Lee Thomas was reinstated and joined the perpetual
membership: Brother Raymond Brownlee and RW Samuel Scardina traveled all the way from Cape Coral Lodge No. 367 to recognize Brother Thomas and what a wonderful Brother and friend Brother Thomas has been shown his generosity and gone and beyond to show the values of Masonry.

More news on April 11, 2017 we retrieved our traveling Level from the
Ribault Lodge No. 272 and in addition on April 16, 2017 we joined forces with the Ribault Lodge in our tradition Easter Sunrise Breakfast: I would like to recognize the following Brothers who were present. WB Jim Baade, WB Jim Gaskins, Brother George Grant, and Brother Randall McCorvey.

COMMITMENT:
A man’s, especially a freemason’s sacred, bond is his word. When he
makes a commitment to do something, he is extending the bond of his word,
breaking that bond brings great discredit upon the man so doing. In generation past, that man would be shunned, dishonored and cast away from his friends and peers, for his “word” was essentially worthless. Since there are no repercussions for that behavior today, the offender feels no personal responsibility, is the total lack of consideration for the impart on others who depended on that commitment.

We all have a given length of “cable tow” and sometimes circumstances happen that our cable tow comes up short and we are unable to follow though on a commitment. Everyone understands that because it has happened to all of us. But a man of his word or an upright mason will have the common courtesy to make notification in a timely manner that he cannot make his commitment and not leave his brothers who depended on him in the lurch, especially when a cell call, email or text takes only a few seconds to communicate.

As mason we are taught that the Holy Bible is the inestimable gift of God to man as the rule and guide to our faith and practice, in the Holy Scriptures we are told to do unto others as we would do unto ourselves. In my humble opinion, this one simple command is the answer to all our problem.

Let continue to make a difference!!!

Brethren,

Fraternal greetings to all of you, spring has sprung and finally here. Time to put away those winter garments and break out shorts and T-Shirts. For all the seasonal golfers out there, it’s time to hit the course and wake those club up from hibernation. For most of us it’s time to do all those outdoor activities we love, whether it be gardening, sprucing up the yard, or just playing with the kids or grand-kids outdoors. Be mindful also spring brings the annoying constant runny nose, congestion, watery and itchy eyes and breathing difficulties to people like myself who suffer with pollen allergies and other airborne irritants.

I would like to recognized the brothers who put time and effort in painting our Kitchen and Pantry, Brothers Bob Utter, Scott Brinley, Tim Shieder, and specially to George Grant who lead us.

On March 03, 2017 Mrs. Ruth Baumgarten and her daughter Bonnie awarded a widow certification of appreciation on behalf of her husband Bro. Harold Baumgarten, the certificate was awarded by RW Royd Keys, PDDGM and WB Jim Gaskins, PM, and she was very appreciative for what the lodge have for done to her late husband.

Also, our Bro. Ted Roycraft chili cook off was very successful. We had the honor of having Brothers from various lodges joined us in the festivities everyone had a great time tasting different chili and listening to the band. It wouldn’t have been such a success with out the help of WB Jim Baade, PM, who organized the event. Thank you WB Jim!

The Ionic Lodge has an Enter Apprentice Degree and a courtesy call was for Bro Chris Onuschak. Thank you to the Worshipful Master of Ionic Lodge accommodating our Brother to the degree of Enter Apprentice. Congratulations Bro Chris Onuschak!

I would like to appreciate the Brothers who attended the 11 & 12 District Association.

Let’s continue to make a difference in 2017.

Masonry means more than wearing lapel ring or having a emblem on your car- its has to come from your heart to having the true meaning of Faith, Hope and Charity.

Live your life by example so others will know and try to follow that there is a just an upright man. Help your fellow man, when they are in need of help but do it silently and don’t look to be recognized or rewarded for doing charity. What really counts lies buried deep within the human breast till Masonic teaching bring it out and put it to be the test, your own action will be judge, when you stand alone before G.A.O.T.U.
